Start: May 2, 2025

Completion: May 5, 2025

Overview

Frontline Global Services, in partnership with Firefly Reliability, responded to an emergency service request from a company based in Kentucky to perform a high-velocity chemical clean on the Plate and Frame Exchanger. This service was conducted under a compressed timeline with high safety standards.

Project Objectives

Safety and Efficiency

Efficiently minimize equipment downtime while ensuring all operations are conducted safely, protecting personnel and equipment.

High-Velocity Chemical Clean

Ensure all contaminants are flushed out of the plate and frame heat exchanger.

Cleanliness Standards

Achieve a final particle count of 16/14/11 or better, per industry standards (API 614), and ensure clean screens free of particulates.

Methodology

The Frontline team mobilized quickly to the site with appropriate tools. All work was completed externally, avoiding confined space entry while still meeting cleanliness expectations. Visual inspections and documentation were conducted prior to cleaning to log any anomalies or contaminants.

Process

  1. High-Velocity Chemical Clean(FF-2020): Executed flush on plate and frame heat exchanger for lubricating oil system

  2. Fluid Purification Process: Circulate and filter existing or newly added fluids to ensure they meet ISO 16/14/11 or better.
